Jaina Solo's Violet Blade and the Sword of the Jedi (Legends)
Share
Jaina Solo was named the Sword of the Jedi, and the title turned out to be a job description rather than an honour.
The eldest of Han and Leia's children, Jaina was a gifted pilot before she was a notable Jedi — Rogue Squadron material, entirely her father's daughter in that respect. Her lightsaber carried a violet blade, close to her aunt Mara Jade's, and Mara's influence on how she fought ran deeper than the colour: Jaina trained under her, and learned an approach shaped by a decade of Imperial covert work rather than Temple instruction.
The title came from Luke, delivered as a prophecy at her knighting. She would be a blade, forged and tempered, standing alone — and she would know neither rest nor peace. It reads as ceremonial until you follow what happens to her.
Her twin brother Jacen fell, took the name Darth Caedus, and killed Mara. The Order's answer was to send Jaina to Mara's widower for training, and then to send Jaina after her brother. She killed him.
That's the whole weight of the Sword of the Jedi: a weapon is a thing you point at a problem, and Jaina spent her life being pointed at the people she loved.
Violet is one of the rarer blade colours, and one of the best-looking against a dark hilt. shop sabers
