Mace Windu's Purple Blade
Share
Mace Windu carried the only purple lightsaber in the Jedi Order, and the Order noticed. Blade colour follows from the kyber crystal, and purple crystals are vanishingly rare — rare enough that the weapon effectively identified its owner from across a battlefield.
The hilt matched. Windu's was finished in electrum, a gold plating reserved by tradition for senior members of the Jedi Council and generally considered ostentatious by everyone who wasn't entitled to it. The design is short-bodied with a ridged gold emitter and dark grip — compact, built for the aggressive close-range work Windu favoured.
That fighting style was his own invention. Vaapad channels the opponent's fury back at them, which meant deliberately enjoying the fight — an approach most of the Council considered one bad day away from the dark side. Windu was one of very few Jedi permitted to use it, largely because he was one of very few who could.
The blade's last appearance is in Palpatine's office. Windu disarmed the Chancellor, had him beaten, and was talked out of the killing stroke long enough for Anakin to sever his sword arm. Windu, his lightsaber and his hand went out the window together over Coruscant.
Electrum plating and a violet blade — there is no subtler way to describe this one. shop sabers
