Obi-Wan Kenobi's Final Lightsaber

Obi-Wan went through more lightsabers than most Jedi of his rank, largely because he kept losing them in situations no one could reasonably be blamed for — dropped down a Naboo shaft, disarmed on Geonosis, knocked out of his hand aboard the Invisible Hand.

The hilt he settled on for the back half of the Clone Wars is the one most people picture. It's a refinement of his earlier work: a longer body, a grooved black grip, and a broad ribbed emitter section that gives it a slightly industrial look next to Anakin's tighter build. The blade ran blue.

He carried it into the duel on Mustafar and won, and then he carried it into exile. On Tatooine he buried it in the desert outside his hut, along with most of what he'd been — a Jedi living as a hermit doesn't need a weapon that announces him from a hundred metres away. He dug it up again when the situation demanded it, which it did more than once.

Its final use was aboard the Death Star. Facing Vader in a corridor with Luke watching, Obi-Wan raised the blade, saw his moment, and stopped fighting. Vader's stroke passed through empty robes.

This design rewards close inspection — the emitter ribbing and grip grooves are what carry the whole thing. shop sabers
